phillip lim resort 2012.

all images from style.com

These 8 looks from Phillip Lim are a part of his amazing Resort Collection and I am in love.  All of these pieces would fit into anyone's wardrobe and immediately bring a fresh, modern feel to every day dressing.  I tend to especially love Resort Collections, probably because of all the variety.  What I love most about this collection is the use of neutrals with the pop of color.  It is perfect.

the langham huntington.

I had the privilege of visiting and staying at the beautiful Langham Huntington Resort in Pasadena, California.  The portrait of me in the first post was taken here and I was reminded of how great the experience was.  My Mom's work has an annual company holiday party and for 2011, this was their pick.  Not only was the historic hotel absolutely beautiful, the restaurant/bar/lounge, The Tap Room, was my favorite part of the whole place.  The Tap Room was a nod to the original bar that opened in the hotel after prohibition ended in the 30s.  The decor was right up my alley with touches of antiques, earthy touches, and seductive low glowy candlelight.  The perfect place to sip a lemon drop martini, my choice for the evening, handmade with fresh lemon juice.  So sweet, so dreamy.

style inspiration.

All of these images are from Scott Schuman over at thesartorialist.com.  If you have never visited his page, shame on you!, go right now.  He is by far my favorite street style photographer out there.  He was the OG and set the bar high.  I mean reeeeal high.  These are just 6 of the hundreds of images of his that I am in love with.  Such inspiration, every day.

me.

December 2011, in one of my favorite 50s cocktail dresses

My name is Summer and I am a fashion/clothes/style lover.
I believe it is vitally important to feel great about yourself, develop a personal style which makes you feel confident and feel great about what you are putting on your body as well as what you are putting into the world.  That is why I decided to create this blog; to share my love for fashion and inspire people to search for personal style, confidence, themselves.

I would describe my personal style modern minimal mixed with bright, bold vintage.  I incorporate all of my high-end pieces from Barneys with vintage garments I have found at various places.  I also adore H&M.  This place is my number one place to go for expensive looking garments at a fraction of the price.  Many of H&M's collections are completely runway inspired and are absolutely amazing.  Another one of my favorite places to shop by far!  To be honest, the only places I really shop at are H&M, Barneys, and thrift stores, but the occasional stop at Nordstrom Rack rarely disappoints.  For me, there is nothing better than getting a killer designer look for a fraction of the cost and feeling like a million bucks in it!  Perfect.
